After writing last week’s piece on perimenopause and hair shedding, and then reading through so many of your comments and messages, I realized how many of us are in this season together.
The shedding has been pretty significant lately, and between that and my grays, I was honestly starting to feel a little blah about my hair. Whenever I start feeling that way, my first instinct is usually to reach for my scissors (I think every hairstylist is guilty of this). But this time, I realized I didn’t actually want to cut my hair at all. I just wanted to feel better about it.
I was going to do my roots like I always do, because covering my grays instantly makes me feel like an upgraded version of myself. It’s one of those little things that helps me feel like me, but then I got a glimpse of my frazzled, sun blasted ends and realized they may need some extra TLC too..
