Pete's Log: Infection
Entry #3043, (Coding, Hacking, & CS stuff, Meta)(posted when I was 47 years old.)
Before this evening, I hadn't booted my esgerdev VM since before we left for Colorado—mostly because we've been busy and the weather's been nice, but also because motivation was a bit lacking. But then I learned about this PHP testing thing called Infection which mutates your code and checks if your unit tests detect the changes. So I was curious to see how the unit tests I've written so far hold up. Here are the initial results:
2550 mutations were generated: 2185 mutants were killed by Test Framework 363 covered mutants were not detected 2 errors were encountered Metrics: Mutation Code Coverage: 100% Covered Code MSI: 85% Please note that some mutants will inevitably be harmless (i.e. false positives).
I think that feels not terrible, but I'll have to take a closer look at the escaped mutants. Not tonight, though.
