One of my favorite things about summer is how everything gets a little simpler.

The workdays are still workdays (who am I kidding?), but without the school schedule, practices, and the constant rush from one thing to the next, life settles into a different rhythm. Family dinners last a little longer. We play more tennis, stop at the farm stand almost daily for fruit and cucumbers (duh), stay outside until the fireflies come out, and yes... I’m still reminding my kids every single day to start their summer homework. Please tell me I’m not alone?

Maybe that’s why I notice myself simplifying everything else, too. Less makeup. Hair almost always up. Barefoot whenever possible. A puzzle is almost always on the table (I’ve been a puzzle wizard since my days at MD Anderson). And I keep reaching for the same handful of things because they just work.

Here are a few things I’ve been loving lately...

hat and dress on repeat

I own this dress in three colors, which should tell you everything you need to know.

It’s one of those rare pieces that works for everything. Lunch with friends, travel days, throwing it over a swimsuit, dinner out... I’ve worn some version of it almost every week this summer. If you want more, this Posse one is also part of the rotation.

I’ve had this hat for 2 years, and I still wear it on repeat.

It’s one of those purchases that felt like a splurge at the time, but the cost per wear has to be practically free now. #girlmath

The very best body lotion!

I finally purhased this body lotion after trying their retinol lotion first. Obssesed!

It’s lightweight enough for summer but actually hydrates. My skin drinks it up and it never feels sticky which is a non-negotiable for me. Get the Eucalyptus scent!

My friend Elle just launched this Barrier Baume, and it’s so, so good. It’s now on a waitlist but I promise it’s worth the wait :)

It only took us forever... but we finally dropped our baby blue claw clip.

I’ve been wearing it nonstop. Beach, errands, work, dinner... my hair somehow always ends up in this clip. It’s the perfect shade of blue, holds my thick hair, and somehow makes a messy bun look intentional.

SPF is a non-negotiable. I love that ours doubles as my morning moisturizer, so it’s one less product to think about. Lightweight, non greasy, and it layers beautifully under makeup (on the rare occasion I’m wearing any). For the rest of my body, I am loving this spray!

Pool days are just better with a good float.

These somehow make every afternoon feel a little more fun, and they’ve survived my kids much better than any of the cheap ones we’ve bought over the years.

Scent of the Summer

Last summer, this was the scent of our house. And here we are again.

There’s something about lighting it after a day at the beach that officially signals summer to me. It’s fresh, green, earthy, and somehow captures that feeling of walking through a garden at golden hour.

Now it’s your turn. What’s one thing you’ve been loving lately? I’d genuinely love to know because some of my favorite discoveries have come from all of you.
