You really do need to simplify your routine.
I think it was my parents who first pointed out that my skin had noticeably improved. I haven’t historically had a lot of acne, but definitely hyperpigmentation, redness in my cheeks, and a slightly uneven complexion.
What they were seeing was tighter, brighter and clearer skin. And a quite healthy complexion with or without makeup.
It had been a year since using exclusively ERLY. It honestly took some discipline for me to tighten my routine to less than 5 products in total. I am the girl who goes for every single targeted ad, falling for the over-promised results and the next new thing. I couldn’t imagine being consistent and narrowed in a space I have historically loved to experiment in.
Initial Takeaways –
I initially really missed the fragrances. I love the spa-like experience of rubbing oils and serums all over your skin, clavicle and back of my neck. And there’s honestly nothing better than a rose or lavender essential oil scent. But I have come to recognize my own skin sensitivity and eczema flare ups, and have been so thankful that’s one of our brand pillars. The inclusivity here far outweighs how I missed it.
I was scared it wasn’t juicy enough. I’ve historically been a k-beauty ride or die, and still do love it. Especially this SPF, and I am here for these masks. I have been so pleased with how hydrated my ERLY routine feels.
My skin craves Daily Splash with its ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid and absolutely drinks it in. That is my number one product I’m devastated when I run out of. I apply Rhode Glazing Milk as my first step.
Secondly, ERLY Night is undoubtedly the hero. The Vitamin B in it compliments the other ingredients, locks in moisture, and feels delicious, while also light.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is how to care for my barrier. I now notice and pay attention to early signs that things are off, tingly, and in need of attention. And it’s always after I think I can get away with adding back products my skin ultimately does not want, need or like. Learning what your skin can handle is crucial within this space. Also, you may really like an occasional acidic exfoliant.
There is nothing revolutionary to this, except I am here to confess a few things.
There’s a tiny adjustment period, like most things you’ve grown addicted to. The buying and trying more things is hard to break.
The SPF will be frightening when you first put it on but it’s the softest rub down and truly has become my favorite moisturizer. Plus it works really as a makeup primer and the mini facial massage is good for a snatch.
Trust the derms. Basics are actually sufficient and really will change your skin.
