Songs About Butterflies

KM has done it again with this record, yall. He don’t miss.
I got to fill in for the amazing Camellia Hartman for the end of the Little Wide Open US tour and I don’t really now how to best summarize it, except to say my heart is full!

Wanted to share a few times I teared up:
1. Singing “Bittersweet, TN” with Kevin for the first time in 3 years (?!) in Atlanta
2. Singing on “Beautiful Strangers” live for the first time in New Orleans
3. “Little Wide Open” in Houston
4. Listening to Lucinda on the bus after Austin
5. Catching up with Cochemea, realizing why I’ve been dragging my feet on finishing my new album

After the Austin show we all went to The White Horse to see our friends Cotton Clifton + Leo Rondeau, and have a celebratory two-step. Dom Billett + I kept saying this is the best night ever, haha, because it was such a confluence of friends. Austin always feels magical to me, and it was super special to end the night with one of our oldest touring pals playing the soundtrack.
I kept forgetting that they had already been on tour for 5 weeks when I joined, because spirits were so high and jovial. They welcomed me in and it was so great to see everyone. KM always kills it with bringing the right folks together and I was so happy to get to share in the good vibes and be inspired by the music for the week.
Anyway, you get it. I’m just always very grateful for him having me be a little part of This Is A Photograph, and it was so extra fun to join for a little of this chapter, too!
