Hello and welcome to Quaintrelle!

Would you be so kind as to click that heart symbol on the bottom left?

That tiny little gesture helps attract more readers to this newsletter, and it really warms my heart to know you enjoy reading.

Thank you. ❤️

I like to send out newsletters to premium subscribers on Monday afternoon; however, this, as you know, since you’re the one reading it, has come out Tuesday morning.

Because, well… life.

I spent the weekend away. Summer weekends are so fleeting, I’m loathe to waste any time, which means I found exactly none in front of my computer. And Monday, I needed to take four hours out of my day to get an ultrasound on my tennis elbow. The procedure itself took only 30 minutes, so hats off to the clinic running like a well oiled machine, but the time suck came from the drive to the Scarborough location. apparently the sonographers in closer clinics are also observing summer hours.

Anyway, summer fun combined with a long drive to Scarberia and, badda boom, badda bing, this update arrives a little late.

But the disruption dovetails nicely into today’s topic – my final instalment of my weight loss and reshaping journey. This was supposed to be about maintenance and the habits I’ve created to keep off the 23+ pound I lost between March 3 and June 10, but, like life, I’m tailoring today’s missive to discuss my battle plan for dealing with the unexpected.

What I Ate (and what I didn't) to lose 23 Pounds in 3 Months.

Thank you to everyone who was so kind, supportive, and generous with last week’s post about how I lost 23 pounds in three months. I was literally shaking when I hit send, so thank you for being the kind of community who uplifts and encourages.

Truth be told, I’m still about five-seven pounds (depending on the day) away from the upper end my weight goal. But summer weekends and a doctor-ordered hiatus from lifting heavy will do that.

I’m not down about it.

This will be my new normal for… well, forever.

The mullet hairstyle is my spirit animal for a balanced lifestyle.

Obviously, I’m hoping to get to my goal weigh asap, but, I’m also ok with maintaining my progress during these lazy, hazy, margarita- and rosé-filled summer days. Life’s too short and time too precious to be overly restrictive. Disciplined – yes. Observant and intentional – of course. I’m not saying I’m going tits-first into a Bacchanalian summer of girls gone wild debauchery. What I’m saying is, I’m taking a cue from the emblematic and long-lived mullet, striking a lifestyle balance that is business in the front, party in the back.

To keep myself moving forward – no backward slides for me!! No siree, not this time – these are my personal 10 Rules to keep off the weight I’ve lost. (In order of importance.)

Now we go behind the mumu for premium members.

But if you would like to gain entry, the cost of admission is as little as $6 Canadian a month.

The really good news for those of you in Europe and the US, is the Canadian dollar is so poor right now, you can upgrade and I have to pay you.
