Eric Ruby · Language Objects - A Place For Pictures

I’ve always loved photographing cows. They are *MOSTLY* chill, curious about the things around them, albeit skeptical. I feel akin to them, just roaming around, grazing, looking at stuff. Feels allegorical for how I explore the world. They can have such innocent, friendly existences(In the most ideal circumstances), just hanging out in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Looking out on the ocean, mountains, river valleys. Places that are pure majesty that the majority of people never see, but it’s *utterly* normal for them.

Some of my favorite moments on trips have been in the absolute middle of nowhere, and a cow just appears in the road staring at you trying to decipher what the hell you are also doing there. I’ve experienced this many times where I just stop and have a moment with them. Sometimes they just go back to what they were doing, stare at you pensively, but normally get spooked by the sound of my camera shutter and the moment ends.

Second to dogs, I think cows are my most photographed animal. When editing for this post I found a ton pictures of cows that I genuinely like, perhaps I’ll have to do a part 2!

Enjoy XO RUBY : )
