JK, that’s not what we’re here for.
We’re here for the latest greatest ADHD-fueled project by Moi [Erica Zazo], a freelancer still (somehow) on this wild ride of figuring out how to build a career out of piecing it all together.
I’m hoping to use this newsletter as a way to:
✈️ Update ya’ll on my latest adventures — personal and for “work”
❤️🔥 Send call-outs for pitches for stories I’m furiously writing
👋 Connect with more PR folks (my literal only colleagues, lol)
🏳️🌈 Give life updates (that you deff didn’t ask for) in an attempt to humanize the person behind these words
PS: If you’re not yet subscribed to this newsletter… whatcha waiting for?
My March is *literally* insane. I currently have 12 stories (🙀) and counting.
I think this all came following a wave of panic. I started pitching furiously in early February after two of my retainer (non-outdoor) clients needed to part ways due to budget constraints. Therefore, my upcoming writing schedule is packed…
Looking for gear/product reccos and sources for:
(Runner's World) Gender-neutral running tops
(Bicycling Mag) Gender-neutral biking shorts
(Treeline Review) What to bring camping gear roundup
(CNN Underscored) Best tent stakes
(REI Co-op Journal) Plus-size gear buying guide
(REI Co-op Journal) Gender-neutral gear buying guide
TBH this is an overwhelming amount of gear reviews and roundups. I hope to do more narrative-based storytelling, interviews (with cool people, athletes, etc.) and some harder-hitting (read: more important) stories that touch on issues like climate, social justice, queer experiences, etc. If you have ideas, LMK!

Courtney (my wife) and I are very busy these days with… things. Things that may or may not include trying to figure this out (👶). It’s complicated. It’s stressful. It’s expensive. But most of all, it’s exciting. Send good vibes, positive thoughts, and more assignments so that we can somehow afford this *laugh/cry*.
At the end of Feb, my best friend and I are going to Utah Gay Ski Week 🏳️🌈 for a story on what it’s like to go to a gay ski week and why queer experiences in mountain towns are so important. This is for SKI Magazine. Can’t wait to tear up Park City slopes with a pride flag in tow.
In mid-March I’m going fly fishing in South Carolina 🎣 I’m testing some Free Fly apparel, the new Orvis Helios fly rod, and getting my feet wet (literally) with saltwater fly fishing for the first time. We’re also doing a Low Country Boil which will be fun and yummy.
