Magnet
I have tried my absolute hardest to try and get into tiling window managers. They all look the bee’s knees (other insect joints are available) but my goodness, they are simply impossible to use without a cheat-sheet to one hand and, dare I say it, probably overkill. To be fair, all I really want is something that works like Windows, and that is probably the only time I will ever say that. For something as awful as win11, the window management is actually pretty good.
I tried Amethyst and Aerospace, and MacsyZones from the QuakeNotch developer, and tried i3 on a VM.
Nope. Everything going everywhere all at once. Strange permissions, keybindings were probably random, so I’ve settled on Magnet which is only a £5 from the app store. I’m too old to be learning a new windowing paradigm so this actually suits me right down to the ground. If I need to watch a YouTube video to understand how to tile my windows, then this is a rabbit hole too far.
My only disappointment is that emacs, inna gui, completely ignores anything related to window management which seems entirely unhelpful.
Things I need to stop doing

I have a collection now. One of them is a little germ of a business idea (ground.solar, Charlie Don’t Surf, I Don’t Climb (itself taken from a NegEarth lampy’s t-shirt)) inspired by the absolute farce I have had trying to get solar generation installed while also having a commercial electric tariff.
