The conditioned structures that formed around us long ago are no longer large enough to contain the life that’s emerging.
This lunation illuminates a moment when the masks that enabled each of us to participate in the collective dream begin to prevent us from being fully alive.
Directly opposite the Aquarian Moon, the Sun in Leo is conjunct Jupiter, magnifying the solar principle of identity, vitality and creative selfhood to extraordinary proportions. The Sun naturally rules the sign of Leo, and Leo wants life to be big and wholehearted. It wants us to inhabit our individuated light without apology, false modesty or dependence upon an audience’s approval.
Sitting across the sky, the Moon presents us with an essential question: how does this singular light belong to something larger than itself?
This is the central tension we will all feel: the search for a form of belonging that does not require the sacrifice of our individuality. This is the path of individuation that brings us back to being whole.
The Moon occupies the seventh degree of Aquarius, whose Sabian symbol is:
“A child born out of an eggshell.”
It is a curious and impossible image: something recognisably human emerging through a completely unprecedented form.
But what is the shell—and why is it breaking now?
