Rosina Garcia coaches cross country and track and field at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara, where she had tremendous success in her first year and is looking to build on in it the 2026-2027 season. Garcia is also apprenticing with the Coaches of Color Initiative, a comprehensive one-year mentorship program I helped create in 2021, which is how I’ve gotten to know her. An accomplished runner in her own right, she’s now training for her first 100K trail race, having previously conquered the 50K and 50-mile distances.
Garcia is currently accepting remote coaching clients of all ages, and there’s a good chance you’ll want to hire her after listening to this interview, which took place shortly after she visited Dream Run Camp in Flagstaff. If so, reach out to her via Instagram or email me at matt@dreamrun.com. For more pearls of wisdom from the mind of Coach Garcia, check out the personal essay she wrote recently for the 80/20 Endurance blog.
