I wish to forget myself again
To lose myself in my creative brain
And discover who I might become
When fear is overrun
By hope
.
To dream of opportunities
Unrestricted by physical limits
Then wake to new realities
Of a world made accessibly
.
Might this ever come true
What if it relies on you?
Would you fight for the human right
For equality
For everyone
For me?
.
You could be the cornerstone
Noticing goodness wherever you roam
Finding places who do the best they can
So we can start celebrating
Rating and frequenting them
...
A poem about my hatred of inaccessible places and situations. As a blind wheelchair user this is a constant battle which may seem like nothing to most people but restricts my life hugely.
Could you be the cornerstone of accessibility improvements?
