Hello dear reader,
I am writing this from Nashville with a cat on my lap, listening to the birds outside the window. Bliss! April has been kind to me, with shows in Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Nashville and Athens. I truly adore being out on tour — it makes me so happy to sing these songs for you.
It’s been a little while in the making, but I’m finally happy to share that my new EP, Down and Out in Party City comes out this summer on August 21. It’s available on the following fab formats:
LIMITED EDITION 10 INCH VINYL (500 copies only, signed and numbered)
LIMITED EDITION COMPACT DISC (500 copies only, signed and numbered)
DIGITAL DOWNLOAD (unlimited)
Pre-orders can be made here.
The streaming version is available early on May 14 and can be pre-saved here.
To celebrate the release, we also have new t-shirts, limited run posters, and handwritten lyrics available from the Bandcamp shop.
These songs were recorded by Jordan Lehning in Nashville, and are very much in the same universe as the tracks on my 2026 LP The Resurrection Game. I love working with Jordan, he’s a sensitive, creative soul with an incredible talent for arrangement, and a kindness and patience that makes him a delight to collaborate with.
The cover art was designed by Reno Bo, a wonderful Nashville musician who also happens to be fab at graphic design. The references I gave him were vintage 7 inch EPs from the 1960s and old school Penguin paperbacks, since I’m a collector of both. I’m really happy with how it turned out! The photo is by another super talented local creative, Laura Partain. She shot the cover of the first EP I made way back in 2013, and it’s lovely to work with her again.
I’m really proud of this EP and I hope you dig it!
Peace, love, collectibles,
Emma x
