Pixels + Plaid is a quick and easy quilt pattern that lets your favorite color combos shine. Its design is inspired by vintage tile work in a pixelated plaid. Click through the photos on Etsy to see finished quilts in multiple color schemes. Will you go for a classic plaid or a more pixelated look? It all depends on your 6-color palette!
This is a beginner-friendly quilt pattern but pattern testers of all different skill levels described it as engaging, fun, and “a 10/10 win for any quilter.” The design uses all cotton solids and is made with a efficient strip piecing method.
One of my amazing pattern testers shared that, before starting this project, her quilting skills were feeling rusty thanks to her sewing time being filled by busy babies. She was looking for an energizing and forgiving quilting project, and decided to answer my call for pattern testers. I was thrilled to hear that, even amid the chaos, Pixels + Plaid was a quick and peaceful project. She praised the PDF for including just enough guidance and yardage wiggle room to cover a few “enthusiastic but sleepy mom” mistakes.
Another tester said this is the project that brought her “sewjo” back. And that’s the best feedback I could hear.
