It’s Wedding Story Wednesday! On this week’s episode of Emily Post Wedding Stories, you’re invited to the wedding of Meghan and Marc, which took place on September 9th, 2018, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
Meghan and Marc knew from the get-go that they wanted a small, local wedding. And they certainly achieved it. Their Wednesday wedding was attended by their parents and grandparents, and Marc’s brother, with everyone joining the happy couple for a lobster-boil rehearsal dinner with whoopie pies for dessert the night before, a gift from Marc’s mom and stepdad, and a small but traditional ceremony the following day. For a small wedding, the couple was able to hit lots of traditional marks, from Meghan being walked down the aisle by her dad, to traditional vows, and a reception afterward that even included a first dance.
Meghan and Marc were one of the couples I interviewed for research for our upcoming book Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette, out in February of 2027.
