Hello, hello! Let’s get down to brass tacks and jump in with what I wore to the airport on Wednesday morning, shall we? I rate this travel outfit 10/10. And I don’t say that lightly! I washed these jeans the night before (and put them in the dryer on full blast) and they were still comfortable- no “break in” period like some denim after you wash/dry. I rarely wear jeans when I fly, as I think I’ve worn these on the last 10 flights I’ve taken, but something came over me and I just knew what I wanted to wear. I actually really like flying and get excited about it, so travel outfits are important to me. Fun fact: I love turbulence. Weird, right?

This was my first time wearing this new button-up, and ok ok, I get the hype! The material is great, and it nicely covers my bum. Without being too oversized. A goldilocks shirt, if you will. I’ll talk about the shoes in a minute…

Flight to New Orleans was easy, then I ubered straight to the hotel to check-in and get ready for the conference happy hour. Of course, the Ritz Carlton lobby decor was right up my alley and I took a thousand photos. Restraining myself and only sharing a few today!

Got to my room and went on a search and rescue for the full length mirror. It was on the inside of the closet door… sneaky!

Ok, I promised I would talk about the shoes! For years, I have been very “not-into” the Row sock shoe and swore I would never wear such a thing. Mind you, in NYC they were everywhere a few summers ago.

Then someone linked to a dupe recently and something in my mind shifted. All the sudden, I really wanted them. Of course, I was like, wow I’m horrified with myself for a) buying a dupe, and b) jumping on a bandwagon (that’s not really even bandwagon-ing anymore) when I swore I would never!

I was second guessing this decision, but then they arrived and they are so comfortable. And I’m obsessed with them! And guess what? I got compliments from so many strangers. From people at the airport, my stewardess, people staying at my hotel- even my husband nodded at me and said “cool shoes” as I was heading out the door to the airport. But the funny thing was that every stranger who said something also said “I’ve never seen a shoe like that before!” Just a reminder for me to touch grass every once in a while and remember that not everyone is in my same bubble. On that note- highly recommend a re-read of this gem from Sogole Kane.

Moving on! Is there anything more satisfying than unpacking? I don’t think so.
