Kristoffer Borgli, the Director of the new A24 film is a friend I met through our favorite Jean Designer (Celine) OLGABASHA - he reached out saying he had an idea and a few minutes later I was on an email with the whole A24 team:
Kris is familiar with my work - in that we have a series called VINTAGE re-PRINT ON’s in which I individually source 1950’s - early 1990’s vintage tee shirts that I deem ‘insanely good‘ and reprint on the reverse side a new phrase or graphic giving them new life and re-news their existence with a new message.

I had 1.5 months before the movie was out to design a custom graphic, source the tee’s make a custom woven label, screen print them all and finish production - the next day I got the screener and locked TF in. I watched it twice in 4 hours (i’m aware that math doesn’t math)

The film came out on Friday April 3rd - I joyously attended the NYC premiere
working on this was very easy and fluid as it is / was already an extension of my work. i really appreciate Kris’s words: via email “ It turns the merch into a physical expression of the films themes, not just branding, and makes each piece feel unique and conceptually tied to the movie is actually about”
we ended up doing like 15 versions if not more - but ultimately went with “ TO BE LOVED IS TO BE KNOWN” in our classic EDL font by my fucking boy Justin Sloane.
last last (lol i wrote this two weeks ago my bad) week Zendaya wore one of the tee’s to a premiere in LA and the internet really enjoyed it lol. I enjoyed the Louis Vuitton x Marc Jacobs FW2013 RTW collection skirt paired with it the most

if you missed the first drop, we just did a second release on the hat thats out today :)
