Inspiration snippets

Inspiration is everywhere. And I’m always trying to capture it.

Pinning. Screenshotting. Collaging. Saving.

Then stepping back to assess the themes, both blatant and underlying.

Sometimes, my analysis uncovers a cohesive trend that then turns into a full-blown Substack essay complete with a thesis, supporting points, and application. Like my ‘boyish + glam’ exploration I’ve been referencing all summer while getting dressed, or that time I did a deep dive on Miley Cyrus’ style.

Other times, I’m left with snippets to carry with me, more of a bullet-pointed list than a cohesive essay.

All that to say: these are the recent snippets that I can’t stop thinking about…

• They’re more substantial than leggings but they’re not quite yoga pants. I love them. Thinking I’ll give this pair at Old Navy a go.

• For someone who talks endlessly about their small bandana, I’m really starting to see the styling possibilities of a big bandana.

  

• I was a bit jealous of my mom’s bag + scarf combination… so perfect!

  

• Building a necklace stack is high on my list of priorities right now.

• DIY fridge magnets are also a priority, I like this idea of shells or buttons.

  

• I’ve been fixated on these Khaite Jane flats for at least a year now, and this Loeffler Randall iteration is also speaking to me. I just love a glove-flat silhouette.

  

• PURPLE is very top of mind. Evonne Sturm did a fabulous job laying out all the different shades to love right now. I think this tank will be violet’s intro into my closet.

• This handkerchief hemline plaid skirt caught my eye in an ad. I think the styling with boots is great. I see you, Gap.

  

• After a couple swings and misses in the baseball tee department (like this one I didn’t love at Ref), I think I’ve finally found a promising contender just in time for fall. I love the loose, boxy fit and the 3/4 sleeve. I’ll be reporting back

  

• Of course, I have my eyes peeled for little western touches I can add to my existing outfits. ISO the perfect belt and turquoise jewelry.
