Apologies for the dead zone here this week. I am unfortunately going on three weeks of being still fairly sick, with a bad cough, dizziness, and zero energy. I am also buried in book revisions.
I’m working on a few pieces I hope to share here soon, including a piece on the search for irrevocability in a world where everything (gender, identity, relationships) feels fluid, some thoughts on the Neil Hopper (the aptemnophilic amputee amputation surgeon) case, a look at how complications from cross-sex hormones are discussed in online trans spaces, a blast-from-the-past (Tandy Aye’s 2019 TedX talk on whether the world is ready for adolescent gender surgeries), and a review of Lena Dunham’s memoir Famesick. But nothing is quite ready to go at the moment.
In the meantime, please send me questions—gender-related or not—that you’d like me to answer, which will help me keep new content coming even as most of my energy is going into the book.
Thanks for your understanding this week.
