Time...

This is the quote that I kept close when everything fell to pieces.

This is the quote that reminded me what I needed to do.

This is the quote that ignited my fire when so many had tried to extinguish it.

This is the quote that I wrote out over and over when others stopped calling or emailing.

This is the quote that that I held like a pebble in my pocket.

Because we didn’t make it past the first day of secondary school.

Because things happened that I cannot say but should never have happened.

Because no one came. It was just us now.

Because the silence told me all I needed to know.

I would fill this cup and never let it be emptied ever again.

So this is the quote that gave me all the answers when no one else would or could.

Time was all we had, time and love was what I would give where others had so dreadfully failed.
