The ADAC Sample Sale is happening, and there’s also a great local auction right around the corner featuring pieces from the Orkin family here in Atlanta.

I’m also heading to NYC this weekend with a suitcase that is, somewhat unintentionally, turning into a Lela Rose trunk show. Lela Rose just marked down a lot of pieces, including this yellow dress that’s still online, and several of the sale pieces are coming with me.

And one to bookmark for Sundays: Visual Comfort releases a new batch of “Open Box” lighting. I went through what’s currently available and pulled out the ones that caught my eye below. The discounts can be really good, especially if you’ve had a particular room or lighting project lingering on your list. One important note: there’s usually only one of each Open Box light available. So if you see something below that would work in your home, this is not the moment for my usual “leave it in your cart and think about it for three days” approach. Move fast.

Lastly, if you haven’t browsed J-Crew’s Sale — promise you will be glad! The prices are sort of bonkers with 75% off the sale price.

Lots of good things to dig through this week — let’s get into it. As always, you can find my Most Popular Links | Latest Online Finds✨.

I’m noticing that every Sunday VC is adding new fixtures to their open box section so be sure to check back on this page weekly.

I spiled my Etsy sources over the weekend, category by category: what’s actually worth buying, the shops I recommend, and the sellers I return to for everything from custom upholstered furniture and window treatments to vintage finds, home accessories, and a few things for the closet, too. Think of this as my Etsy Rolodex—the source list you save now and come back to whenever you’re hunting for something specific.

My sister’s house is hitting the market this week, and before it does, I have to show you her entryway with Society Social’s Peel & Stick Wallpaper. This is the wheat colorway (currently unavailable) and I have both cashmere (currently unavailable) + citrus green (available) in my home. If you’re on the house hunt her address is 409 Collier and listed by Katherine Crabtree. The wallpaper throughout is so good that it sent me down another very deep peel-and-stick rabbit hole. This is my past peel-and-stick wallpaper review post and plan to update it soon.

The ADAC Sample Sale is such a fun one to walk through if you have the time. I’ve included a list of the participating showrooms below, but keep in mind that pricing varies by showroom since each one sets its own discounts. Some may be up to 85% off, while others might be closer to 40% off.

I also want to specifically call out Kravet. They aren’t technically part of the participating showroom list, but they currently have a ton on sale, and this is where I’ve found some of my best deals in the past. Definitely worth popping in while you’re there!

And most importantly: this event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Please do not feel intimidated about going or think you need to bring a friend with a trade license. You can absolutely walk in, browse, and shop on your own.

Ahlers & Ogletree has a very good two-day auction coming up in Atlanta on September 2nd and 3rd, and I’ve already started going through the catalogs. There is a lot here—from contemporary art and iconic design to tabletop, antiques, glass and some very good old-school decorating pieces.

SEPTEMBER 2: MODERN & CONTEMPORARY ART + DESIGN

The first day leans decidedly more modern: fine art, furniture, lighting, sculpture, studio glass and decorative arts.

There are also more than 50 pieces of turned wood by Ed, Philip and Matt Moulthrop, which feels especially worth noting for anyone who loves collecting work with a Georgia connection.

Auction: Wednesday, September 2
Starts: 10 a.m. ET
Where: Ahlers & Ogletree, Atlanta / online bidding available

SEPTEMBER 3: IMPORTANT ESTATES + THE ESTATE OF BARBARA & SANFORD ORKIN

Day two is the one that immediately caught my attention.

At the heart of this sale is the Estate of Barbara and Sanford Orkin, longtime Atlanta collectors and philanthropists. Sanford was part of the family behind Orkin Pest Control and eventually served as its president before the company was sold to Rollins in 1964. He and Barbara were also major supporters of education, healthcare and the arts—particularly at their alma mater, the University of Georgia. And their collection is fun.

It spans fine art, art glass, sculpture, furniture, decorative arts and design, but there are also those wonderfully specific things I always want to find in an estate auction. Case in point: a 36-piece set of 1960s Richard Ginori “Pompei Gold” cups and saucers for 18, currently estimated at $400–$600.

This is the sort of catalog I love because you can go in looking for art and end up bidding on china, a lamp or something you absolutely did not know you needed.

Auction: Thursday, September 3
Starts: 10 a.m. ET
Preview: August 31–September 1, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Preview reception: September 1, 5–8 p.m.
Where: Ahlers & Ogletree, 1788 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd. NW, Atlanta

One important auction-house reminder: factor the buyer’s premium into your max bid. The online listing shows a 28% buyer’s premium, so decide what you’re actually willing to spend with that additional cost before the bidding gets exciting.
