Friend,
Summer is halfway over. And I want to ask you something that might catch you off guard.
Do you feel free?
Not free as in you have nothing to do. Lord knows that is not happening for any of us. I mean free as in... you are living on purpose. You know who you are. You know what you are building. You are not just surviving the days. You are actually choosing them.
Because here is what I have noticed talking to thousands of women over the last few years. So many of us are busy but not free. We are managing schedules and keeping the house together and making sure everyone else is okay. But somewhere along the way, we lost track of ourselves. Our goals. Our voice. Our purpose outside of being needed.
And I want to be careful here because I am not one of those people who thinks motherhood is a cage. I chose this life. I chose ten children. I chose to homeschool. I chose to build my family on faith and sacrifice and showing up every single day even when it was hard. I would choose it all again.
But I also know that God did not design me to disappear inside my own home. He gave me a voice. He gave me a message. He gave me gifts that were not just for my kids. They were for the world. And it took me years to give myself permission to use them.
That is what freedom looks like for a woman. Not running away from your responsibilities. Running toward your full purpose while you carry them.
So I created something for you. I am calling it The Freedom Audit. It is ten questions that will take
you five minutes. And by the end, you will know exactly where you are free and where you are stuck.
Here are three of the ten to get you started:
Question 1: If I took away every obligation on your calendar for one week, what would you do with the time? If you cannot answer that question, it means you have been living for everyone else’s schedule so long that you forgot you had your own.
Question 4: Is there something you have been wanting to build, start, write, launch, or create that you keep pushing to “someday”? What is actually stopping you?
Question 7: When was the last time you did something that scared you? Not dangerous. Just uncomfortable. Something that made your heart beat faster because it required you to show up in a way you were not sure you could.
Those three questions alone will tell you a lot about where you are right now.
The full audit has all ten questions plus journaling space and a scoring guide so you can see exactly which areas of your life feel free and which ones feel like you are just going through the motions.
I want every woman reading this to take ten minutes this week and be honest with herself. Not to feel bad about what she finds. But to finally see clearly so she can start making changes.
Because here is what I believe with everything in me. You were not created to shrink. You were not created to just manage. You were created to lead, to build, to speak, and to show your children what it looks like when a woman walks in the fullness of who God made her to be.
Thanks for reading Family Defense Network! This post is public so feel free to share it.
