Lately, I’ve found myself craving smaller forms of inspiration again. Those kinds of beautiful things that have nothing to do with productivity and everything to do with how we want to live. Does anyone else try to “relax” in a productive way (laying on the sofa but ordering groceries, take a 15 min nap but telling myself I’m going to think about what all I need to pack as I drift off)? I’m trying to get out of this terrible habit.
I want things that are pure pleasure. A great striped shirt, a hotel with perfect lighting, old wavy glass in an antique mirror, the first real signs of summer, a song you suddenly can’t stop playing.
This feels like a fun place to collect them.
Welcome to Beautiful Things, Vol. 1.
This is one of the easiest additions to a room that creates instant ambiance. I especially love them in a bathroom during a nightly bath or glowing in a dining room during dinner. You can usually find something at your local antique store, but here are a few favorites:
Circular Wall Candle Holder (I have two of these)
We don’t want to be boring. Here are a few summer hats that lift the mood every time. Like clothing, there are hats meant for active endeavors and hats that simply make an outfit feel chic. These are the latter.
Raffia Truffe from Paris (tried this on at their atelier and still think about it)
Currently craving light cotton daywear with a hint of lace for lounging at home, by the water, or while cooking an al fresco dinner.
