This is my 100th newsletter!
Since my first post on Jan 2023, I’ve sent out a newsletter every single quarter without exception.
This is big for me, with my two petulant mutable placements jostling in my big 3. My kink is the initial excitement of a new project and then losing steam halfway through; the ghosts of said projects brush by me indignantly.
But not here. For the past 3 years I’ve been consistently showing up to strengthen my writing voice, and sometimes vent, and to be honest that process has sat somewhere between irritating and enjoyable; I’m still finding my voice.
I’m interested in a lot of things, but I don’t always know how to communicate through as colourfully as they sit in my imagination. It is a real skill, but what I have really learned about this is learning and developing a relationship with the process. It’s really bountiful and it is teaching me a lot about how I function creatively.
Recently, my friend helped me to identify where my true enjoyment lays when it comes to writing; right now, it’s not journaling my innermost thoughts, fears or secrets. It’s not providing critique or social commentary. It’s sharing a hobby and expressing a simple observation.
One of them is gardening.
So, I’m pleased to introduce my new Substack publication BUSHNOTES DIARY:
I’ll be sharing my gardening progress, tips and observations from the land (and beyond). I’m an avid notetaker and I’m already documenting what I’m learning, so this feels right.
Come and follow my journey :)
