Don’t Let Them Push Us Out of This Fight

I’m going to be honest with you.

This campaign is at a crossroads.

Over the last year, we built something that a lot of people said was impossible. We built a people-powered movement in the middle of South Florida, in the middle of Trump’s America, powered not by billionaires or corporate PACs, but by ordinary people who believed that maybe, just maybe, someone who actually lived through the struggles our communities face could fight for us in Congress.

And now, the political establishment wants this movement gone.

Not because we’re losing.

But because we’re winning.

They are terrified of what this campaign represents.

A young, Black, gay Gen Z-er from Fort Lauderdale. Someone who experienced homelessness as a child. Someone who showered at the beach before school because his family had nowhere else to go. Someone who watched his mother work herself to exhaustion and still struggle to survive in an economy rigged for wealthy people and giant corporations.

Someone who didn’t come from political royalty.

Someone they cannot control.

That’s what this campaign is about.

And that’s why I need your help right now.

We are running out of the resources we need to run this campaign and keep our lead. A donation of any amount can and will help us win.

When I was a kid, I didn’t understand what the “2008 financial crisis” meant. I just knew we lost our home. I knew what it felt like to sleep in cars. To couch surf. To live in fear and uncertainty. I knew what it felt like to watch adults around me try their hardest and still drown.

That kind of instability changes you forever. You grow up understanding that for millions of Americans, one emergency is all it takes for life to collapse. And the sad part is? Things have only gotten worse since then. Housing costs are exploding. Healthcare is unaffordable. Groceries drain people’s bank accounts. Young people don’t believe they’ll ever own homes.

Working families are hanging on by a thread while billionaires buy yachts and members of Congress insider trade their way into wealth. And meanwhile, our democracy itself is under attack.

In Florida, they have rigged maps. Attacked voting rights. Targeted Black representation. Undermined the Voting Rights Act. Criminalized protest. Targeted LGBTQ+ people. Banned books. Tried to erase history. Turned immigrants into political punching bags. Weaponized state government against dissent.

Every authoritarian experiment happening nationally has a testing ground in Florida first. That’s why this race matters so much. Florida’s 20th Congressional District is more than just another congressional seat. It is one of the most important Black opportunity districts in America. Generations of Black voters fought, organized, marched, and bled for the right to elect candidates of their choice here.

Now, after years of attacks on the Voting Rights Act and racially motivated redistricting schemes, that representation is under threat again. And the political establishment thinks they can parachute in the same old politicians, recycle the same tired politics, and expect people to fall in line quietly.

I don’t believe our community should have to settle anymore. Not for politicians who only show up during election season. Not for leaders who treat this district like a stepping stone. And not for a Democratic Party that keeps asking working people to lower their expectations while donors and insiders get everything they want.

This campaign is different because it belongs to regular people. And right now, we need your help to keep it alive.

The truth is simple: campaigns cost money. Organizing costs money. Reaching voters costs money. And unlike the political establishment, we are relying on grassroots donors to sustain this fight.

If you’ve ever donated before, thank you. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to jump in, this is it.

Please donate whatever you can today — $5, $10, $25, or more — to help us keep building a campaign that fights for working people, defends Black representation, and takes on the political machine trying to crush movements like ours.

Because if we keep organizing, keep fighting, and keep believing in each other, we can prove that the future of Florida, and the future of this country does not belong to the powerful.

It belongs to the people.
