Hello, I’m Loren Assunção, and today I’d like to share with you about a simple practice that has deeply transformed the way I see my life: writing, every single day, how grateful I am for what I have and for what I am becoming.
At first, it may sound like something small. Just a notebook, a pen, and a few sentences. But over time, this daily act becomes something much more powerful. It becomes awareness. It becomes direction. It becomes identity.
We often move through life focused on what is missing, what didn’t happen, what we lost, what we wish had gone differently. Without realizing it, we train our minds to look for absence instead of presence.
This practice gently shifts that perspective.
Every day, I take a moment to write about my life as it is now. Not a perfect life, but a real one. I write about the things I have already built, the knowledge I’ve gained, the strength I’ve developed, and the person I’ve become over the years.
And something interesting happens.
The more I write, the more I see.
I begin to notice that I have more than I thought. Not only in material terms, but internally, clarity, resilience, experience, and vision. Especially when I reflect on the last decade, I can clearly see how much I’ve grown, how much I’ve learned, and how much I’ve created from nothing.
Gratitude, in this sense, is not passive. It is not about waiting or accepting less. It is about recognizing value, both in what already exists and in what is still being built.
That’s why I don’t focus on what I’ve lost or what hasn’t happened yet.
My focus is on what I have… and on what I can create, and this changes everything.
Life feels lighter, decisions become clearer and the journey becomes more intentional, because when you truly see what you have, you start to trust what you can build next.
This daily practice doesn’t require perfection. Some days, you may write more. Some days, just a few words. What matters is consistency, returning to yourself, again and again, with awareness and honesty.
Over time, this becomes more than a habit. It becomes a way of living.
A way of seeing your life not as something incomplete, but as something already in motion, already meaningful, already yours.
