Dear Active Citizen,

If you have been following along, you know what we set out to do. One million Nigerians mobilized to vote by 2027. Six Southwest states.

This week, we have updates.

On Tuesday 23rd, June, we set up our registration desks at Covenant University, Ota. The timing couldn’t have been more critical. The campus was in the middle of a high-pressure exam season, and under normal circumstances, students are strictly unable to leave the university premises.

By bringing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) directly onto campus, we solved a major bottleneck. The response was massive. We were met with an overwhelming number of first-time voters who showed immense gratitude for our timely intervention. The relief and enthusiasm were visible on their faces as they stood in queue, eager to claim their civic identity.

The momentum didn’t stop there. On Wednesday 24th, June, we took the drive to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY). Once again, the turnout was incredible, completely shattering any narrative that young Nigerians do not care about governance.

This level of success on the ground is only possible when public institutions step up. The Ogun State INEC staff were stellar partners. Instead of watching the clock, they watched the crowd, staying on ground until the very last minute to make sure as many students as possible were successfully registered.

Seeing this level of passion is highly encouraging, but it is also a reminder of the massive gap we still need to bridge. Thousands of eager students at Covenant University and surrounding communities are still waiting for their turn, and we are actively looking at how to fund a return trip.

But our ability to do this, and to keep moving this campaign forward, is entirely dependent on resources. Fueling logistics, coordinating capacity, and sustaining our human resources on the ground takes a village.

We are less than two weeks away from the registration deadline on July 10. As we push forward into the next phase of our campaign and our mission to mobilize one million Nigerians to vote in 2027, we need to scale up our efforts immediately.

While we were on the ground with the voters of tomorrow, a major structural shift was unfolding in the National Assembly.

The Senate has officially passed the highly anticipated State Police Bill. This constitutional amendment seeks to create a dual policing structure, formally empowering state governors to appoint Commissioners of Police and establish operational frameworks for state-level police forces alongside the federal police.

This is one of the most significant security reforms in Nigeria’s recent history, moving policing from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent List.

Because this is a deeply debated reform with diverse perspectives on how it might impact local security, governance, and political balance, we want to hear your thoughts.
