Requiring I.D. To Enter A Grocery Store??????

This idea reminds me of something else that we have been covering here at Edward’s Journal which is the late and not so great Robert Mugabe and his control of essential stuff in Zimbabwe.

When it came to things like groceries, health care, etc, you had to have a Government I.D. and proof that you were a member of his party, Zanu PF. Clearly he wanted to use food as a political weapons against his political opponents.

And this brings us to today and this notion that if the people of the big apple want to access the government run grocery stores that Zohran Mamdani wants to open, they will need to have and I.D. Will this I.D. requirement include political party? Beacause it it does, then what you’re doing here is you’re choosing to act like Mugabe and you want to use food as a political weapon against your political opponents.

On the other hand, if you choose not to require I.D. does this mean that illegals (people from other countries) will be able to shop at your government run grocery store?

It sounds to me like Mamdami wants to use food and other essential things as political weapons reserved for those loyal to him. I don’t think this is going to end well at all for everyone involved.

It’s better to let the free market decide and for government to stay the heck out of it.
