Dear Colleagues,
As another week draws to a close, I’m in touch with a couple of community updates as well as two polls for your review & participation. Our working groups are in full swing, alongside action in our Communications Committee to develop a few project spotlights to share over the coming months, and in our participatory Community Fund process. It’s spring where I live, and it seems like many of the activities within the community are blossoming as well.

Our next general monthly networking meeting will be held Tuesday 12 May at 14h CET. You can register your interest on this sign-up sheet if you’d like to receive calendar invitations for our monthly meetings.

Are you based in or near The Hague? Many ECCP colleagues are gathering at the upcoming bi-monthly in-person Climate Justice Community gathering in The Hague. The next community meet-up will take place on 26 May from 16:00–17:30 at The Hague Humanity Hub. If anyone from the ECCP would like to join, you are very welcome to register here.

To what extent are climate and environmental security narratives changing, in response to more detailed research on the relationships between the environment, peace and security? If we are moving beyond simplistic framings like "threat multiplier,” are security stakeholders accepting of more nuanced and tentative understandings?

We’re in the process of organizing ECCP meet-ups in Ottawa alongside the conference. Please mark your calendars for Tuesday 16 June from 18h30 onwards - we’ll have an ECCP meet-up over food!
