No Small Talk™
partial transcript
Hi, hello.
So I was thinking about weird jobs.
I’ve had some weird jobs ... I know we’ve all had em ... I was just thinking about how they can kind of sort of... shape you in one way or another,
for better or for worse.
One of these weird jobs I had growing up in the Central Valley... under the sun. I got a job working in a junkyard. A junkyard out on the outskirts of Downtown Fresno.
You know, it’s a junkyard, a designated, agreed upon place where people bring... their junk. And some people consider that junk to be treasure, and treasures have value. and some people make a living finding or procuring said treasures, selling these quote-unquote “found” items back to the junkyard.
and as you can imagine, there’s a whole slew of characters hanging around, especially the ones working at the junkyard, just characters.
When I worked there, I was a 20-year-old kid,
knew it all,
I’d done it all,
I’d seen it all, which was nothing at all.
I really liked these characters at the junkyard. I tried to fit in with them, you know. I loved them...these salty, crusty creatures telling wild tales...
Here’s a live recording FOR THE PAID SUBS ($5 gets ya pretty far around here... )
