Yesterday my daughter had a complete meltdown. This isn’t unusual for her, she has “Reactive Attachment Disorder” and has spent time in residential treatment and is currently a part of an “emotional growth classroom” in our local public school district. We’ve done a lot to support her and have adjusted our lifestyle in an attempt to minimize triggers for her.

Leveling Up

Feeling great today! I decided to deviate from my Garmin Coach plan of sprints today and attempted to break my PR for the 5k. My last 5k PR was in October of 2025 with a time of 27:07, which is a ~8:44/mi pace; today’s attempt was successful with a time of 26:34, a ~8:33/mi pace. That’s a 33 second total improvement, and a pace improvement of 11 seconds per mile! It feels great to decide to shoot…

Running is going great!

Yesterday I joined some friends from Slow Runners of Salem at Silver Falls State Park for the 4.5 mile loop trail loop. I completed 2 loops for a total of 9.13 miles as tracked by my Garmin in 1 hour and 47 minutes. It was a great time! The weather was beautiful and I felt great after.

Not a big deal, but I just wanted to see if i could set up an email-to-blog pipeline so i could post more frequently without having to do all the formatting and logging into GitHub i used to do.
