Hi team, it’s Vanessa -- the Finance Director here at the DSCC.

As I’m sure you’ve already heard, the U.S. Supreme Court recently issued a decision in National Republican Senatorial Committee v. Federal Election Commission. The conservative majority sided with the Republican Party’s efforts to overturn decades of precedent by rewriting campaign finance laws and eliminating a key safeguard against corruption in our elections.

Democratic Senate candidates have consistently outraised their Republican opponents, powered by strong grassroots support from voters like you. Republicans’ scheme to overturn campaign finance law is a clear and blatant effort to rewrite election rules for their own benefit and send more money from billionaires to prop up their candidates.

As DSCC Finance Director, I know it may feel disheartening that the Supreme Court has delivered yet another win for the GOP’s billionaire donors and special interests who want even more influence. But we are a people-powered mission, and we DO have the ability to keep up with GOP megadonors and flip the Senate to put a check on Trump.
