Dr Natazia zu Stolberg · Well Being

June was a month of highs and lows. I very proudly celebrated one year of DOCTOR STOLBERG, but also discovered the true meaning of decision fatigue running a CPG brand alongside a full patient schedule. I stopped therapy and picked up morning pages instead, à la The Artist's Way. It's working better than I expected. In the midst of it all, I held myself accountable to my scheduled workouts, actually drank the water I'm supposed to in a day, went to a World Cup game, reminded myself that taking rhodiola for overwhelm works like nothing else and discovered some new things I now feel strongly in support of.

Me in the midst of a mini breakdown. Finally wound down thanks to setting 2 on my PEMF mat, my emotional support boxers and the knowledge that I at least wasn’t aging at that very moment with the help of my mask (code CBNAST). I was then interrupted by the gardeners arriving later than scheduled and you can imagine how that went.

I am a Waymo convert

Late to this, I know, but June was the month I took my first Waymo, and many more quickly to follow. It's my new favorite productivity tool. Let me explain. Any drive 25 minutes or longer (the sweet spot I've found for actually sinking into a task) becomes a chance to knock out clean out my inbox/slack, post on instagram or review documents from my team, which leaves my time at home free. The first week I did this I spent about $140 and got back 4 hours of precious time. Worth every penny.

Low-stim is the new self-care

I’ve been on a low-stimulation kick lately. Turning my phone off to prevent scrolling and trying to use my hands more. Building a Lego with J on a Sunday afternoon might have been the most therapeutic thing I did all month. When we unboxed it I quickly called dibs on the printed instructions but was then converted to using the Lego app that lets you build asynchronously with others, passing pieces you build back and forth and tracking your progress. We did it for hours. Currently deciding which one to purchase next.

I rediscovered the joy of shopping IRL

Laurel Pantin's store, Earl IRL truly feels like being in your cool sister's closet, the one who actually lets you take what you like. Best collection of brands and pieces I've seen in a while, curated without being fussy. I made an appointment, spent a few hours there with a friend, and left with a handful of perfect items I felt confident I truly wanted. For days after, I was struck by how good I felt about the whole experience. Laurel's general coolness was no doubt a factor, but I decided that trying on and buying in person was something I'd simply forgotten in the haze of online shopping.

Thank you for being with me through the highs, the lows, and indulging me in the Lego excitement. Can’t wait to see what July brings.

xx Dr. Stolberg
