When the Anthony Costa Foundation approached us late last year with news that Cherished Pets Foundation had been selected as their 2025 Annual Golf Day beneficiary we were over the moon to say the least!!
As a small not for profit organisation operating tirelessly in our region to provide assistance to pets of vulnerable people, in a time when competition for grant funding is at an unprecedented peak, we knew that this was an opportunity to treasure.
We have been blessed with a beautiful philanthropic story developing with Anthony Costa Foundation that started in community, is grounded by community and is connecting our community towards a healthier future.
Sometime in 2023, a chance meeting at our wonderful Betty Blue coffee van in Madeley St between our Chair of the time, Judy Wookey and an ex-colleague, led to an introduction to Anthony Costa Foundation. The timing was perfect as their Community grant round was open. We applied with the same hope, dedication, belief and commitment that drives the energy behind every grant application and were delighted to be awarded a two year grant at the end of 2023. This grant has supported the continuation of our Crisis Care Service in the wake of our 2022/2023 State Government grant funding allocation reaching completion. Huge gratitude for this from the hundreds of pets and people in our region who have been able to access safe haven and veterinary support when life has become intolerable through either family domestic violence, mental health crisis and homelessness.
So it is with that same unwavering hope, belief, commitment and dedication that we have allocated resources and love to the 2025 Golf Day working alongside their beautiful team. Our Chief Impact Officer Sarah has led the charge working with the Anthony Costa Foundation team and leaning on our crew to pull it all together.
