Happy new year!

Wish you all a happy new year 2024! 🎉

As you may have noticed, last year ended with fewer blog posts. Not only work kept me really busy, but I also used the time to work on a few personal projects intensively and learn a lot of new skillz.

Including but not limited to:

• a fully fledged homelab rack for compute, storage & network
• a complete netflow/IDS “SIEM” solution for home network security
• hypervisor setup for testing exploitation techniques and malware analysis
• endless IoT & home automation tinkering in my new flat
  • all the sensors & dashboards you can imagine
  • reverse engineering, e.g. for controlling my window blinds
  • addressable (sound-reactive) LED installations (also in our local hackerspace)
• hacking around in 9front

And finally, I also visited the 37c3 “chaos communication congress” at the end of the year, followed by a nice new year’s party in Hamburg.
