Game Changers Book Club: The Long Game

We did it. We played the long game — we read through the books that came after Heated Rivalry — and now we are at The Long Game. I probably should have just started with the first two even though we’d just seen the adaptation, but oh well. We’re here now, and it feels more timely because we can discuss the forthcoming adaptation with a bare minimum of spoilers about what Jacob Tierney is actually doing. Which is its own form of long game, in the sense that it will be a long time before we have answers.

The Long Game, and its precursor Heated Rivalry, is the most in-depth of the books. This is because Ilya Rozanov seems very much Rachel Reid’s favorite character to write. That is not to say I don’t think she likes Shane; if she’s writing him based on the quirks of her own sons, I’m pretty sure she loves him.
