Endless, the truth
compacted and condensed, immanent
its taste a kind of clarity.
       Yield.
_____
Dreams come
true; I arrange myself,
releasing what lingers.
_____
I encounter
the work of wonder;
my mind wanders
to pleasure, my whole self given over
       to connection.
______
I’ve transgressed,
       said too much, been too much.
I know what comes next:
       myself planted in the heart of another,
       creative partnership,
       friendship that can heal;
People who choose me whole.
_____
I woke
       and I pushed back
what had been building:
a hardness not right or good.
I cannot have enmity with you,
       wantonness.
_____
My tears of responsibility
pasted together a mountaintop flame,
a GOOD
material life.
_____
I am not
       and never will be
unfavored;
my heart labors with
your relentless, restless regard.
_____
I am aware of God withholding
       his face;
But seen, I feel a magnetism
drawing my imagination,
what burns between us
a truly holy fire.
