Knowing

God who knows and who grants to your creatures all various forms of knowing -

May you lovingly lead those who steward your word more deeply into revelation:
into previously shrouded wonders of thought and language;
into textual silences that are pregnant with your presence;
into their own embodied wisdom, sown over a lifetime by your accompanying Spirit;
into empathy for and mutually-enriching connection with others;
into divinely-inhabited wild and unfamiliar theological terrain;
into your very being (in which they live and move and have their being).

Empower them to lean diligently into their desire, their delight, their disruption, and even their curiosity-spurred distractions,
entrusting themselves to the surprise-laced gift of working alongside you, in and for love.

On this day,
may the work of their hands, the words of their mouth, and the meditations of their hearts be pleasing to you,
our rock and our redeemer.
