At what point is it disingenuous to call it an “approval rating”? The term itself implies there is someone, somewhere who approves of the job of you’re doing and that their relative approval can be quantified, if we were to disqualify the president’s cultist supporters I’m not sure that’s true.
The president’s current approval rating is hovering around the 33 percent mark, which is historically low. For comparison all of his contemporaries enjoyed higher, usually much higher, approval ratings at this point in their second terms. Obama was at 47%, Clinton at 45%, Regan at 42% and even his arch nemesis Joe Biden managed a 37%. Outside of the hardcore hat weirdos Trump is deeply, deeply unpopular.
In the name of science I have compiled a list of things that currently enjoy a higher approval rating than Donald Trump:
Paper cuts
Waiting in line at the bank
Sand in your bathing suit
Supergirl
Jamming toothpicks under your fingernails
This list is by no means comprehensive.
