Yep, I’m doing a giveaway for an ARC (advanced reader copy) of Every Beat After PLUS a $15 gift card to your choice of swig or starbucks! Details on that in a second!

But first — a tiny slice of advice, as we finally start to shake off the darkness and cold of winter and step forward into the beauty and warmth of spring.

Springtime is often a time of renewal and resets. We often hear about “spring cleaning” for our homes, but how could it apply to our writing? Rather than decluttering your closet, you could throw out any negative thoughts you’ve been struggling to silence. Instead of organizing your pantry, you could organize your writing space and add some fresh flowers, open a window, or light a new candle. This is a great time to set some “fresh start” micro-goals, or use some spring inspired writing prompts to help you embrace the new life springing up all around and bringing that momentum into your writing! Here are some suggestions:

• Go for a 20 minute walk to clear your mind and then sit down to write for one hour. The fresh air and sunshine will actually help you focus!

• Write about a time in your life that felt like a “fresh start” OR write a scene for a character starting a new chapter in their life.

• Describe how spring feels, smells, and looks, using the adage of “show don’t tell”.

These are just a few options to get your creative thoughts blooming, but there are endless options. I just hope you are enjoying the trees starting to blossom and tulips unfurling from the earth as much as I am!

Many of you originally know me from my debut series, DEFY, IGNITE, and ENDURE. Some of you may also know that (with no warning to me) my publisher suddenly put it out of print a few years ago, even though it was selling solidly!

Well, after an interesting battle, I did get my print rights back, in hopes of releasing this series. But man, life is busy!! And I just haven’t been able to make it happen. Now, I still don’t have any specific news I can share — yet. But it’s coming VERY SOON. So buckle up, my Alexa and Damian fans…you are going to be so happy! Make sure you keep an eye here on my newsletter, and on my socials, for more news as soon as I can share anything!
