This week I’d like to introduce you to a concept that beautifully aligns with the Pericardium meridian: The Heart-Wall.
According to Dr. Bradley Nelson, when we experience emotional pain that feels too overwhelming to process, the subconscious mind may create an energetic barrier around the heart. He calls this a Heart-Wall. If any of you have ever received an “Emotion Code” from me, you may have run across this.
The Heart-Wall is designed to protect you from being hurt again. The problem is that what protects you can also limit you.
Over time, that protective barrier may make it harder to fully experience joy, intimacy, trust, connection, or even your own intuition.
I’ve often thought of the Heart-Wall as a modern description of what Chinese medicine describes through the Pericardium meridian. Both recognize that when the heart has been wounded, the body creates protective layers.
The challenge is that those layers don’t always disappear when the danger has passed. Many people spend years carrying protection they no longer need.
As you listen to this week’s sound healing track, simply notice what feelings, memories, or insights arise. You don’t need to analyze them or force anything to happen. Just observe.
Sometimes awareness is the first step toward softening the walls we’ve built around our hearts.
A question to reflect on this week:
If your heart has been protecting itself, what might it be trying to protect you from?
