With the rise of AI and the concept of vibe coding, anyone with an idea is not able to create a functional prototype of a digital product. As apps become more complex and AI tools like Cursor, Lovable, and V0 get better every day, is coding still an optional activity for designers?

Let’s dive into understanding what vibe coding is, how it helps designers test complex user interactions, and how it is a better choice for design researchers. I have been an IC designer in the enterprise space for the last decade, and all the limitations Figma prototypes posed, vibe coding has been partially successful in solving those.
