I called man-about-town and the ever so chic Antwaun Sargent in New York, where he’s a director and curator at Gagosian, the famed blue-chip gallery that represents the below artist:

Here’s the thing about Antwaun: you rarely see him in the frame. The guy behind the guy. Gagosian made him a director in 2021 at 32, one of about thirty across seventeen outposts. He brought Derrick Adams, Cy Gavin, Tyler Mitchell, and Deana Lawson onto the roster not long after.

We talked about taste, his time as a kindergarten teacher, and this Celine tie by Michael Rider that keeps being on his mind.
