How are you doing, readers? I have a confession to make. I haven’t started our current book. This Motherless Land sits ready for me, like a patient child, knees crossed on the rug, looking up at me quietly.
I had two books to finish first, The Dog of The North by Elizabeth McKenzie (so funny and bonkers wonderful) and How to Solve your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin… I finished the first yesterday and have a couple chapters left of the latter before I can hopefully speed through our book club book ready for our chat on the 12th. Totally doable during half term right?

I just wanted to jump on here and mention that I’ve put the next book listing online. Sandwich will be our next read, and we’ll aim to meet on July 24th.
I’ve read Catherine Newman’s work before, and been to one of her talks when she was touring, and although I haven’t read this one yet, can guarantee that you’re in for a treat.
