So You Want a Stranger to Fund Your Movie

Let’s be honest about something. Nobody wakes up excited to read a film pitch. Investors do not sit by the fire thinking, “I hope a filmmaker emails me a 47-slide deck today.” What they actually want is to feel two things at once: that your movie will move them, and that it will not vaporize their money.

Your job is to give them both, in a package so clean and confident that saying yes feels like the obvious choice.

A film package is simply the set of materials you hand someone to convince them to fund your project. It is part love letter, part spreadsheet. The creative half shows them what the film will be. The financial half shows them why it is not a terrible idea to pay for it. Skip either half and you have a problem. A gorgeous deck with no numbers reads like a daydream. A tidy budget with no vision reads like a tax form. You need both, and they need to be equally strong.

Here is how to build one that actually works.
