Idenia waited in the courtyard outside the stables and adjusted her hood once again. She paced back and forth and pulled the woolen cloak around her more tightly in an effort to keep out the cold morning mist. Feeling conspicuous and out of place, she smiled weakly at two sentries crossing the courtyard.

It had happened so fast that she had to keep reminding herself she was the shianin and Jarska was sending her to Helmport to find the Lightstone. The entire situation still seemed so surreal.
