Bryton strode the hallways of the palace, making his way toward the high priest’s chambers. Rarely was he called to appear before Jarska and never to a private meeting first thing in the morning. When he reached his destination, he knocked firmly on the heavy door.
Jarska opened the door himself.
“Your Grace.” Bryton nodded in respect.
“Come in, come in.” The holy man ushered him in and closed the door behind him with a thud. “Have a seat.” Jarska settled across from him and leaned back, elbows on the chair’s arms, hands steepled before him. He studied Bryton for a moment before speaking.
