Your weekly edit: Designer-approved Etsy shops, nine cheap thrills in our carts, and early Labor Day deals worth jumping on.
Ahead of the high holidays, West Elm has dropped a super-sweet tabletop collab with NYC institution Russ & Daughters. There’s a full stoneware dinner set, serveware illustrated with latkes, pickles, and fish—as is the 100% cotton table runner—and a challah board. Little accessories like ceramic tealight holders and matchboxes can be used beyond the table.
And, if you’re looking ahead to December, there’s a darling menorah that would make an equally great gift. Psst: if you order in-stock items with standard delivery by September 4, you’ll get it in time for Rosh Hashanah.
Etsy is a treasure trove of home goods, but to find its diamonds you must first sift through thousands upon thousands of options. Or must you? Covetable Etsy scores routinely pop up in the homes we feature—and we always ask designers and homeowners for the deets. Here are five storefronts they shop.
Smile Lamp Works: Overhead lighting is hotly debated, but you can’t deny the appeal of this burnished brass design found in the entryway of an Austin project by architect Katharine Bayer and Purveyor Design. The shop has dozens of fixtures in the same mood-setting material to choose from.
AROYco: Come here for clean-edged furniture pieces—all handmade in Los Angeles from domestically sourced hardwood—with impressive attention to detail. You need to see the joinery on this nightstand designer Sarah Mack Wiley picked out for a Toronto reno.
Craft Supply House: Ready-to-DIY wood cabinet pulls in all shapes and sizes can be found here. Vintage curator Shannon Brydges kept the ball knobs in her Michigan home’s kitchen simple, but you could paint them or stain them in any shade of the rainbow.
Studio Haran: This ceramic flush mount just makes sense in these designers’ mid-century surf shack. We’d like to see this oak bracket–mounted wall sconce pop up next.
Knob Thorn Home: The exact lumbar pillow in this moody Victorian’s guest bedroom is sold out, but there are plenty of other dainty floral and cottagecore stripe cushions for the picking.
