Laibach: Live in Pyongyang (2015)
Oh, wow.
Links, links, links
Oh, wow.
I guess that's one way to pass the time
I have no idea who this guy is, this video is barely about Hank Green, I still have no idea what "the situation" is but he says a lot of smart things about LLMs, creativity and psychology.
We should put this everywhere
Live music seems to be a bit of a mess lately.
I was prepared for this one, but again: I wonder how this universe works as a TV series. I hope they don't mess it up.
Oh, I was not prepared for that. I wonder how that universe works as a TV series
"Player two has entered the game"
Turns out: it's mostly SGI and Apple
I am very intrigued.
Hank Green interviews Ze Frank. Such a delightful conversation, highly recommended
Maybe someone can time-travel to the inventors of farming and stop them?
Over three hours, this is absolutely bonkers.
Oh.
Oh no. (I'll need to be really careful with that.)
I have a whole bunch of PWAs installed on my computer. Now I can even run them with my favourite rendering engine.
Oh, these are nice news. Manuel has started something good with these interviews and it's great to see they will continue with a new host.
What will happen next?
It's amazing what connections can achieve. I guess there's just not enough people who stand to gain financially from liking ActivityPub in Davos
Ah, yes. Of course they do.
I remember reading about this guy and his map. Now someone actually went and talked to him and they put the giant map together. Absolutely wonderful.
I liked the title
Until I write my (inevitable) blog post about my views on GenAI and LLMs, I shall refer people to Roy's article
Now this is what I call content. (And I finally have a basic understanding of what is going on.)
Once again: saved by procrastination. (I'm currently playing around with Home Assistant and Meshcore and "connecting these two" was on my list of things to try. Maybe later.)
Besides the condescending tone towards people who wouldn't call themselves "knowledge workers" (Of course for many people their physical labour is also part of their identity, Jack. What are you talking about?) this article finds words for the unease that many people feel these days and backs them up with actual research.
I've always wondered, now I know. The flight-nerd in me read this one very carefully.
This is too good. I'm also a big fan of the update - Maintainer works as designed.
Perfect soundtrack to a hot Friday morning
"Those that desperately tell you how powerful AI is and that you simply must use it are looking for you to validate their own laziness or distaste for effort, and those who are impressed with LLMs’ outputs tend to be people with low standards"
This looks promising. Let's see when they start selling something in this material that isn't a bike pack.
Oh, this seems good!
Wow. I can't wait not to use W Social.
John Roderick travels to Kyiv and has some stories. Astonishing.
This is really wonderful. AND useful.
Maybe if people were secure enough in their stupidity they wouldn't use "artificial intelligence" so much to try to sound smart. It hardly ever works anyway.
"In a fun way!"
I needed to run a couple of jobs in a docker container and for reasons I couldn't install cron inside the container or call docker exec from the host machine. This thing here works really well.
Sad to say: that's not an AI-specific thing, just one that is accelerated by AI. Also, I should really stop using the term AI for LLM and machine learning things.
Oh.
Oh, boy don't I know it: I can write code for hours because I am the one doing it, and doing it delivers dopamine shots every few minutes, when I compile/refresh my page to see my changes. It keeps me focused and interested.
This is the first time I see something with Ayoade Bamgboye and I like her a lot. Very charming and funny.
Sigh.
Another great video by the OTR people. And so much about Chinese Malaysian culture I finally understand now. (And should have probably understood twenty years ago. iykyk)
While I'm not quite as cynical as the author I sure did think about how good the Americans are at propaganda when they put their mind to it
This is my best one yet!
But first let me take a selfie
Linked purely for the headline
Oh, this is fun, the full Hiroshima show in great quality
Aww man, I'm immediately full of appetite and wanderlust.
