Dmitri’s Door opens once again. Man, do I always feel a bit of egocentricity when the podcast name and the newsletter name are my own. This goes somewhat against my own beliefs on leadership.
On the other hand, it helps to identify the brand and to state openly that I am ready to connect to you, to help you, to be of assistance, and of service. Yet, this newsletter is not about that, but about leadership.
We recorded a podcast with Joppe Quaedvlieg, a good friend and a man who got to the core of figuring out what leadership is. This is rare, and beautiful. So, if you don’t want to read all my boring text, you can just jump ahead into the podcast:
For those of you who do not use Spotify, you can either go directly to my podcast website, or maybe you use Apple Podcasts instead:
Don’t know who would ever read this, after these two magnificent buttons above, but if you need a bit more convincing still, to listen to the podcast (I really dont want to try to convince anyone of reading anything of mine, because I am honestly trying to do things that can help people, and so it feels strange that they need to be convinced), then here it comes.
We have discussed the following topics during the podcast that can be of help to you:
Why asking someone “What do you want?” might be the most radical act of leadership, and why it is such a scary question to answer.
How the magical "descriptive communication” works, and how you can use it.
Why psychological safety can’t be engineered, but how it can be aimed at.
The quiet power of “not fixing” people.
If this is not enough, then I don’t know why you read the newsletter so far. Do you want to be convinced or not? Or do you just enjoy reading random newsletters to the end? Go and listen to the podcast already.
Right now, I am on a path of service, but I find that getting people to admit that they can help, or getting them to actually ask for help, is very hard, but I will keep trying.
If you think I can help you, book a call here. I don’t charge any money, I try my best to really help you, so use the opportunity, will you?
